4/5 Combined Science Unit: Rocks and Minerals and Conservation of Energy

Download this combined unit. Teaching a split grade is tough especially for science. Use this bundled unit that combines both my Rocks and Minerals Unit with my Conservation of Energy Unit. Also included is an outline that explains how to teach these two units together. These units contain the best of both worlds two whole units that include interactive notebook activities, and a project based research activity that leads to student inquiry. There are also experiments, writing tasks, reading passages, and a final summative activity: a game board culminating task.

Each of the activities in this unit meet the following learning goals.

-Choose a product made using Rocks or Minerals to explore for an inquiry project.

-Explore the Environmental Costs to using Rocks and Minerals
