December Activities
December for many teachers is a busy month full of interruptions. For this reason I have set December to be three weeks worth of lessons that focus on a variety of skills in review of previously taught concepts in this literacy series. You can also easily substitute lessons for summative assessment activities that are also included within additional notes to teachers. This months unit is all about flexibility for the teacher!
Books this month:
Week #1 – Enemy Pie by Derek Munson
Week #2 – Strega Nona by Charlotte Riley-Webb
Week #3 – Rent Party Jazz by Jon J Muth
Weekly Differentiated Readings
In each package, there are 3 different texts that can be used for shared, guided or independent reading. Each text is provided at three different reading levels from grade 3-6. With this resource, you can assign the same story for many different students who are all reading at different levels.
Original Differentiated Reading Texts Included in December:
- Safa’s Celebrations
- Top Tips for Interesting Interviews
- Tips for First Time Knitters
- N/A – Winter Break
✍ With ‘Ignited Literacy’ your students will finally cheer when it is language arts instead of groan. And you as the teacher will have a solid plan to teach language, and fit it all in. ✍
