Here’s my challenge for you as we approach the holidays: don’t take any school work home with you on the last day. No marking, no schoolwork, and no planning. Do you think you can do it?
I don’t know if you need to hear this, but you deserve a break and that means you should be taking your two weeks over the holidays completely off. It’s not a chance for you to catch up on everything. It’s a chance for you to rest.
In this episode, I’m teaching you what you need to do over the next week to make sure that you’re not taking anything home over the holidays. It might sound impossible, but I promise it’s not.
In Today’s Episode We Discuss:
- Why you deserve a break
- Rewarding your kids with a movie day and using that time to catch up
- Only marking work that really needs to be marked
- Using your last week in the classroom to prep and plan
- Why you shouldn’t work on report cards over your two-week break
- How to get ahead on your report cards so you don’t need to worry about them
- What you can do now to prepare for January
- Ways to write report cards without starting from scratch
- Why you don’t need to do all your planning before January
If you were planning to work over the holidays, I hope you take this episode to heart and don’t take any school work home. You’ve worked so hard this year and you’ll be better prepared for the new year if you let yourself rest and have a good time.
Enjoy your holidays!
